If you are situated in South Africa, you will easily be able to participate in the Euro Millions lotto with the rest of the world. Each player has to select 5 number between 1-50 and 2 star numbers between 1-12. The player needs to match all of the 7 numbers to win the top prize. You can follow the quick steps listed below to ensure you know exactly how to play the Euro Millions lotto.
Step 1:
Selecting your numbers is the first step when playing the Euro Millions. You have to select a total of 7 numbers. 5 numbers from 1 to 50 and two lucky star numbers from 1 to 12. When playing at a store you will have to put a thick horizontal line through your chosen numbers and when playing online make sure you enter your numbers in the relevant fields.
Step 2:
Your 2nd step will be choosing how many lines to play, your play slip will be divided into multiple lines and boards that enables you to submit more than 1 entry at a single time. You can even purchase up to 7 lines of numbers on a ticket when playing online and 5 lines per ticket at your nearest lottery retailer and you can even ask the retailer for as many lucky dips as you want.
Step 3:
The 3rd step will be choosing your draws. You can choose which draw you want to enter for, the Friday draw or the Tuesday draw or even both. You can also choose if you want to play up to 8 weeks in advance if you choose “both draws” for the four weeks’ option. You can just play for one draw if you leave these boxes blank.
Step 4:
The 4th step will be paying for your tickets as they cost £2.50 for each line that you enter in a single draw. This may differ depending on whether you are playing online as the website may take commission. Only after the payment has been made you will receive your entries.
Step 5:
Always look after your ticket and keep it in a safe place. You will need your ticket to claim any prizes that you might win. Keep in mind that on the back of the ticket there is space to put your name address and signature in case you might lose it, this would prevent someone else of claiming the prize. Playing online is a safer option since your tickets are stored on your online account and any prizes won will be paid to you so you won’t have to worry about losing or damaging your ticket.
Step 6:
The last step is to always keep an eye on the results and its always up to you. You will be able to view it on the EuroMillions results page. You will have a 180 day period to collect you prize from the date of the draw. Visit the official website on how to claim your winnings to find out more.

Participating countries

The Euro Millions has a few participating countries namely:

You can play Euromillions from anywhere around the world online. You don’t even have to be a resident in one of the participating countries. You may even buy a ticket if you are visiting one of the participating countries. Many of the participating countries offer complimentary tickets when purchasing a Euro Millions ticket into other lotteries.

On Tuesday the 3rd of December in 2019 the winning numbers were 31, 32, 18, 38 and 48 and the two lucky star numbers were 4 and 12. After 3 rollovers someone finally matched all the numbers and won the jackpot. The winning ticket has been sold in the UK and after 2 weeks there were still no feedback from the winner. An announcement was made to encourage players to submit an appeal within 30 days if they lost their ticket. This appeal passed in early January so this means the only way the money can be claimed is if somebody steps forward with the winning ticket. It is certainly uncommon for a big winner to wait 2 weeks to contact the National lottery. Since he has not made any contact the assumption was made that his ticket was discarded and he doesn’t even know that he is a lucky winner of a life changing amount.

The winner has until the 31st of May to come forward otherwise the normal claims procedure will be followed. There will be follow ups done and any claimant that can give details about the exact location and time and the date when the winning ticket was purchased matching the official record will be able to claim. If no claims were made, then the total of £40,957,696.60 will be held in a trust fund and will be given to the good cause fund.

Tips when playing Euro Millions
Playing the Euro Millions always comes down to luck. There are a few things you can do to increase your overall odds of winning.
Don’t be tempted to spread out numbers
This is a very strange topic but you will often see players spreading out numbers evenly to make the ticket look nicer and more professional. Don’t be scared to bunch numbers up together.
Extend your number range to 50
Most players will use the calendar or birthday method and mostly choose numbers ranging from 1 to 31. Although these numbers are considered more common and hot numbers the lottery is still random and every number has an equal chance to be picked. By increasing your number range, it will make you win a bigger prize if you by chance win a prize. Most players will pick numbers below your range so you will have less chance of sharing the money in the prize tier you won.
Try to refrain from the previous winning numbers
The likelihood of the same number sequence appearing again is very low and it will most probably do you more harm than good if you pick the same numbers.
Picking the number 13
Now you might have heard about number 13 being a very unlucky number but most people know this. This is why most people pick this number thinking that nobody else will. This made number 13 the seventh most popular lottery number. You will be better of picking less popular digits if you are not interested in sharing the prize tier with many people.
Try playing online
The best thing about playing online is that you can never lose your ticket because it is logged safe on your account. There are still many unclaimed winnings because of discarded or lost tickets. When you play online you can also pay via direct debit. You also don’t have to worry about missing a week or going down to the shop to buy. You will also be notified when you win so you will never miss out on a life changing amount.

How professional does the message look. Scammers have obviously worked on the look of their messages to make it look as professional as possible so its best to refrain from responding and rather follow the official claims process located on the website.
