Hot Spot is a keno game offered by the California Lottery and is played each day from 6.00 a.m. to 2 a.m. with a draw happening every 4 minutes. Player can bet any amount between $1 and $20 for each game. Players have a range of numbers to choose from.
The prizes for Hot Spot are pari-mutuel.
Hot Spot is easy to play.
Pick a set of numbers also referred to as the Spot. Players can play from one spot up to as many as ten. After picking their spot, players now need choose their numbers from a pool of 1 to 80. A Quick Pick option is also available.
The numbers picked must correspond to the spots selected. For example, if a player picks three spots, then they can choose only three numbers. Hot Spot also gives players the opportunity to enter in advance on a single slip. Players can enter for 1-5, 10, 20, 50, or even 100 advance draw games.
For a player to play Bulls-eye, they must first buy a Hot Spot ticket and then wager at least $2. The amount wagered for the Bulls-eye should be the same as that of the Hot Spot.
Important: It is advised that players use black or blue ink only. In the event of a mistake, request for another play slip instead of cancelling and erasing the existing one.
Hot Spot payouts can be Typical Prize Pools or Typical Prize Amounts. The difference is:
Typical Prize Pools (TPPs): These are split equally among the winners for each tier. The top prizes for Spots 8-10 are TPPs.
Typical Prize Amounts (TPAs): These are awarded to each winner, as allowed by the available prize funds.

What is a lottery scam?
A lottery scam is an attempt to fraudulently extract money from someone by pretending to be a legitimate lottery company or winning player. It has sadly become a too common method of deception as such scams prey on people’s desire to win money and the popularity of big lottery games.
Unfortunately, fake wins with other institutions have become a regular occurrence.
Talk to someone. Before giving up any money or personal information, talk to someone you trust. Con artists bet on decisions that are made in a hurry. The chances of recovering money from foreign crooks may be even worse than that of actually winning a lottery.
If you think you have provided your bank account or credit card details to a scammer, contact your bank or financial institution immediately.
