A $1 Straight/Box wager is divided equally between Straight and Box playstyles. Players can win by matching 3 numbers in an exact order (Straight wager), or matching all 3 winning numbers in any order (Box wager).
For example, if a player plays 1-2-3 for Straight/Box and those numbers win, the player will win both wagers. If the Straight prize is $500 and the Box prize is $200, the player will win half the Straight prize – $250, plus half the Box prize – $100, for a total of $350.
An Automated Draw Machine, a state-of-the-art computer, draws the winning numbers.
Draws take place twice a day, and entry must be made before 1 p.m. to be eligible for the first draw, and before 6:30 p.m. to be eligible for the second draw. Winning numbers are available at any Lottery retailer and through some media outlets.

At the very least, a winner will need a lawyer, an accountant, and a financial advisor. Look for professionals who have experience in this specific field and asked the relevant questions before signing up for their services!
When you have your initial interview, here are the questions you want to ask:
How Much and how do you charge for your services?
Ask if there is an initial planning fee, a charge per percentage for assets under management, or whether they make money from selling you a specific product.
What licenses, credentials and certifications do you have?
Which services does your firm provide?
What do you specialize in?
If you have a specific interest — such as charitable giving or socially responsible investments find someone that concentrates in this area too.
Ask to see a sample financial plan.
What is your investment approach?
How much contact do you have with your clients?
Will you be working only with one person or with a team?
Avoid making big changes right away including quitting a job, selling a house, starting or ending a relationship. Winning the lottery is an emotional situation, and winners might not make sound decisions and end up regretting it later.
Once you have your money
Bank it.
Talk to a bank management or private banking department and discuss the best options for holding large amounts of money.
Set a budget.
Sit down with advisors and take a look at how much there will be left have after federal, state, and local taxes
Form a charity and giving plan.
Consider gifting taxation structures or forming an official charity foundation.
Advisor Tip! “Keep the big win quiet and to yourself,” says financial advisor David Niggel
The California State Lottery itself began with a ballot measure, Proposition 37, that was approved by voters on November 6, 1984. Called the California State Lottery Act of 1984, it allows the Lottery to supplement funding for public education in California through the responsible sale of lottery related products.
The California Lottery has raised more than $26.6 billion for education since 1985, and 87% of its sales must be returned to the public as prizes or contributions to education.

Play Second-Chance Games (Where Possible)
Many lotteries offer second-chance drawings on non-winning tickets giving players a bonus chance to be a winner.
Take Steps to Secure Winning Lottery Tickets
Sign it! Your signature on the back of a lottery ticket can help you prove that it is indeed yours if it gets lost or stolen.
Choose Rarer Numbers
Picking certain numbers may offer you a slight advantage, not for your chances of winning, but for your payout. If you win a lottery jackpot, there is a chance that you might have to split the payout with players who picked the same numbers, so you might as well try to select rarer numbers to improve your odds of keeping more of the payout for yourself.
Never gamble with borrowed money.
Create a weekly or monthly recreational spending budget and stick to it.
Only spend what you can afford to lose.
Over time, odds are you will lose, and significant financial gain is rarely a benefit of gambling.
Don’t gamble alone. Do it socially with friends, family or colleagues while enjoying other forms of entertainment.
Gambling should never be essential to having a good time.
Limit how often and for how long you gamble.
Gambling should be your choice. Don’t let anyone pressure you to do it.
Avoid alcohol or other drugs when you gamble as it can affect your judgment.
Not only does the California Daily 3 offer players “top prize” payouts, but it has multiple ways and chances to win. As previous results and jackpot payouts will show, the California Daily 3 offers players of any income a chance to win and dream BIG!
Will a lottery “club” improve your chance of winning?
Joining a lottery “club” will not improve your chances of winning foreign lotteries although Con artists will claim that pooling your money with other people means you can buy more tickets and have more chances to win.
What Are Lottery Pools?
A lottery pool is when group of players pools money to buy lottery tickets together – any of the tickets bought which results in a win, will be split.
Not only will it not increase your chances but lottery pool members have previously been sued for various reasons, like conflicts over who participated in the pool, whether tickets were purchased privately or for the group, whether the proper numbers were played, and more.
There have also been cases where corrupt people collected money for lottery pools then pocketed the cash without ever buying the tickets.
The odds of winning depend on a player chosen playstyle:
Straight: The Player must match the winning numbers in the exact order. Odds: 1 in 1,000.
Box: The Player can match the winning numbers in any order. Odds: 1 in 333.
Straight/Box: A player’s wager gets split evenly between the Straight and Box options. Matching the winning numbers in the exact order, for example, gets the players half each of the corresponding Straight and Box prizes.
Matching numbers in any order, will net the player half the corresponding Box prize instead. Odds: 1 in 333.

Absolutely not! The California State Lottery began on November 6, 1984 and is still going strong 36 years later!
What is a lottery scam?
A lottery scam is an attempt to fraudulently extract money from someone by pretending to be a legitimate lottery company or winning player. It has sadly become a too common method of deception as such scams prey on people’s desire to win money and the popularity of big lottery games.
How to protect yourself?
Unfortunately, fake wins with other institutions have become a regular occurrence – so here are a few tips to keep you and your money safe!
Only buy tickets from authorized lottery retailers.
Offers to sell international lottery tickets by mail or online are usually illegal.
If you didn't buy a lottery ticket or participate in a second-chance lottery game, you didn't win no matter how convincing a text message may sound.
The lottery doesn't notify players when you win; players alone are responsible for checking your winning tickets.
Players are NEVER required to pay money up-front to receive a winning lottery prize.
Talk to someone. Before giving up any money or personal information, talk to someone you trust. Con artists bet on decisions that are made in a hurry. The chances of recovering money from foreign crooks may be even worse than that of actually winning a lottery.
If you think you have provided your bank account or credit card details to a scammer, contact your bank or financial institution immediately.
